Great Adam Smith says ‘‘the real tragedy of the poor is the poverty of their aspirations’’. People of Bhopal were having big dreams and aspiration with union carbide and the government of India at that time. But life is cruel. As Martin Luther king junior says “the ultimate tragedy is not the oppression and cruelty by the bed people but the silence over that by the good people.” In India and the world good people talked a little and then get back to their regular business of Christmas and the New Year. Bhopal mourned and world had given the deaf year.
